Taking Sister-Kitty to the Doktor

I always thought mom was taking me to the Dog-Tor, but yesterday I found it, it is the DOCTOR. They make doggies better, but kitties too. Cinder kitty has been shaking her head a lot. And mom was hearing rattling going on. I told her it was just her silly kitty-brain, but mom wanted to get it checked.

Since mom wants me to know that going to the fur doctor is not always a bad thing, she let me come along to show sister-kitty how it goes.

First, I told her it was safe to come out of her castle. She came out a little hesitantly, but quickly started to explore.

She even did well, when the doctor did that thing with her bum (I just won't let them near mine). But after they checked her pearly whites, she got a little hissy. Fortunately for everyone, Cinder forgives quickly and went back to exploring.
I just layed nicely by mom and kept her leg warm. Then made sure Cinder didn't try to make a run for it, like I would do.
The doctor said she did have something in her ears and that they would need to be cleaned. I was so glad it wasn't me. I don't like my ears played with. But Cinder went away with the doctor very nicely.
And I took the opportunity to get more love from mom. Hmmm, this place isn't so bad after all!
Cinder was still purring when they brought her back to mom and then we were on the way home.
A very uneventful trip to the doctor.

While we were waiting, mom weighed me again. When I first came to live with them, I was at 116. A couple weeks later, I got to 120, but ever since I have stayed at 116. Mom says I look a lot better, no ribs or spine showing. I look healthy, so she was hoping I had gained some weight finally. But nope, yesterday I weighed 115.8. Mom said UGH! But I am eating and playing, so she says it is still probably puppy weight.

THE COUNT!

PS-- Cinderella is a mere 9.8 lbs.

Liv-a-Littles Treats Review

Oh my dogness... it has been way to long since Mom has posted on here. For our non-facebook friends, please forgive us. Don't mistake lack of action on here, as lack of activity in my life. I have been a busy dog, along with mom. Dad was home a lot more than mom lately, so we didn't have as many pictures. He is not good with his flashy. In fact, any picture he takes, ends up being blurry with red eyes. And that will not do for my beautiful Blues!

First, we need to take a commercial break. Chewy.com has been kind enough to offer me snacks to try. This time mom selected:

Halo Liv-a-Littles Grain-Free 100% Chicken Breast Freeze-Dried Dog & Cat Treats

Since I am allergic to gluten foods, Mom was very excited to try out something that was 100% real. Plus, Cinderella would have a special treat for her tricks (that will be coming soon).

The box had my name on it, but mom decided it was time to give Cinderella a chance to open a box on her own. I was sent outside, to watch through the see-through doors. Cinder wasn't as interested as Mom thought she would be.
She gave the snack a small sniff...
Then became more interested in the paper that came in the box.
And even worse, being the silly kitty she is, she completely snubbed the food, to play with the tear-off strap of the lid, while I had to watch from outside, drooling.

Finally mom let me in. I was moving so fast, she could not get any good pictures, until I finally laid down, and patiently waited for the snacks. I gobbled them up as fast as she would let me. In fact, she could only get pictures of the crumbs, until I discovered them and licked them all gone.

Mom really likes these treats cause they are not messy. That means she can put a few in her pocket to work on commands with me on walks, and not worry about a greasy mess on her clothes or hands. Although our kitty did not seem interested, that is just one cat's opinion. The chunks feel like air, and are easy to break up to make into smaller rewards, but plenty big for us big doggies too.
So our overall review is that these are great reward treats, take along snacks and a delicious in between snack. This is what Chewy.com says about it...

My Fur Sister - Cinderella

When I came to live with Mom and Dad, they were very concerned about me getting along with my kitty sister, Cinderella. So they started cautiously.
First I met her in her safe place. We were both quite curious with each other.

Then I wasn't allowed to pay too much attention to her, but had to sit still and let her get used to me.

After awhile, we were allowed to get closer to each other, as long as I stayed calm.

She was actually a pretty friendly, brave sissy kitty.

Mom and Dad were very impressed at how well we behaved around each other.

Now days it is a total non-issue. Don't get me wrong... sometimes we have our moments. She gives me her mean face, but I can't hear the noise she is making. And other times I get a little iritated and have to put her in her place. I get in a bit of trouble when that happens. Mom says no matter what she does, I am bigger and always have to leave her alone. Hmmmppphh, I don't like that, but we make up quickly.

Mom say's she learned a lot about how to introduce me to my sissy from our friend Honey and her sissy kitty, Muesli. She still can't watch this video without tearing up. It is so sweet.

When mom and dad got Cinderella, she was living in a big warehouse with a bunch of other really big doggies all around in crates. So she was used to the bigness and the loudness. Nothing phases my little sister. We both sit and watch the sucky-machine and dad has to make us move when he comes near us. The explosive things in the sky and the big waterbowl in the sky doesn't bother us either. We are a good pair for each other. Mom says it makes her heart pitter-patter even more when she gets to pet us both at the same time.

Day Trippin'

Mom & Dad came home from their Sunday morning trip and loaded Cinder and me up in the car. They said we were going on a "test" trip. I didn't care what kind of trip... as long as I get to go with them.
I settled in pretty quick. Cinderella was eager to see where we were going. Mom told me to be a good big brother and keep an eye on her. I have gone for a ride with her before, when she went and got her very sharp nails trimmed. I got to watch them torture her. She was not too happy about that afterwards.

This trip was a bit longer and there were a lot of turns. Cinder kitty let out a couple little meows, but mom said that was probably her little ears popping as we were climbing high. Other than that, she was a good little sister (actually, she is older than me).

When we got to the top of the high place, Dad took me out to sniff around. Even though it was pretty chilly, mom thought Cinder would like some fresh air too. So they got out and sat and waited for us, until mom got too cold.

Dad and I came back, and mom took a picture of us, with the pretty water behind. She said it was called Big Bear Lake... But I never saw any big bears.

On the way home, mom let Cinder out of her cage. Cinder wandered around the Monte Mobile near mom for a little bit, then ran back into her cage. She told me she felt safer there and mom said that was just fine.

Mom said we did really well on our "test" trip. She explained to us that next month, we are all going to go on a trip to see Grammy and Grampy and she wanted to make sure we would be ok on on a long, windy, hilly drive. Cinder and me both agree that if it means we get to stay with mom & dad, we will go anywhere with them.

I Got My Own Blog!

BARK! I am so excited to meet you all. My name is Count Monte Cristo. Mommy likes royal names and that is how my name came about. Let me share a little bit about me:

I am 2 years old. I come from Mid-Coast area of California. My first mom and dad got me as a puppy. They were a military family. For some reason mom and dad decided to not stay together anymore and they could not keep me either. So my foster mom Joanne came and met me and took me home to stay with her and her family. Little did I know, that my forever mom and dad were already learning all about me. Mom Joanne was sending them lots of pictures of me, while she got me healthy and ready for them. After a couple weeks, foster mom Amanda drove up from Southern California and picked me up to take me to my new mom and dad. I stayed with her big family for a couple days. I sure made a lot of new friends. Then the day came for me to meet my new forever family. Everyone was so excited. I came in and my new dad walked me around the house. Then I got to meet Cinderella kitty in her safe house. Then my new dad took me out to the back of my new home and walked me around.

This is the first picture mom got of us. She said we both looked very handsome and regal and I fit right into my new name.

Mom and dad were very cautious about me meeting Cinderella. They said I could stay forever, if we got along. So I was on my best behavior. When she came out of her safe house, I was awed by how pretty she was. I just watched her a lot. She would come over and sniff me, but I would just sit and watch her. Mom was so happy to see how good I was. Finally I leaned forward to give her a lick, she gave me a swipe across my nose and a new friendship was formed. We get along great. I love my kitty sister and she loves me.

Dad is just amazed at how tall I am. When I stand straight up I can look him straight in the eye!

I already have a girlfriend. Mom's best friend has a pup named Scout. She is a few months older than me. But we get along real good. So far she is the only one that can keep up with my puppy energy. We run and run, chase each other, show off for each other and play licky face. Scout is a lot of fun!

Mom has a special business just for elderly hoomans. She helps them do the little chores that are hard to do when they get older. I have gone to work with her and also visited places where they live. I love everyone, all ages and all types of fur. Mom is so happy that I can go just about anywhere.

Mom says my forever bark-day is June 5. It has not even been 2 months yet, but we already feel like a long time family. I am happy in my new home and mom and dad said I filled a big hole in their heart. I had big paw prints to follow, but I am making my own prints in their home and hearts.

I look forward to making more friends in the new blog world.
